Format of the Cases

The format will mimic the oral cases of the actual American Board of Urology (ABU) oral board exam. The actual ABU exam will test you on three 8 question protocols for the 45-minute Standardized Oral Exam (SOE) session.   Our course participants will be scheduled for two separate mock encounters which will last 90 minutes each (3 hours in total).  Each session will cover 3 cases in the initial 50-60 minutes followed by 30-40 minutes of feedback and dialogue with an experienced examiner/coach.  We will discuss how to prepare for the objective structured clinical exam (OSCE) portion of the Certifying Exam which, when delivered by the ABU, consists of three 5 question stations (professionalism, imaging, diagnostic/simulation) that are designed to be 10 minutes each.

Scheduling?

True to our concierge style, we plan to schedule sessions with candidates based on what works best for you and your examiner. That means throughout the months of December through March we will work with you to determine the exact time of each of your two 90 minute sessions.  This approach will allow you to maximize your learning while juggling your responsibilities at work and home.  The weeks leading up to the actual ABU exam will include free extra help sessions offered to those identified as in need and at risk of failure.  We will work through email/text to finalize scheduling.
